We are a sustainable development and architecture firm based in Belmopan, working across landscape, architecture, interiors, and urban design.
Our projects are straightforward, functional, and energy-efficient, made for the environment in Belize, designed to sit on their sites in harmony with nature and serve the people who live and work in them.
We use design to shape places that inspire and engage the people who use them, while adding to Belize rather than compromising it.

Every brief starts with a conversation. We translate how clients actually live and work into spatial decisions, circulation, light, shelter, gathering that you can feel before you can name them.

A lighter footprint & reduced environmental impact by design.
Each commission is a chance to leave the surrounding environment better than we found it. We achieve this by incorporating sustainable design efforts such as passive cooling, native planting, and durable materials.

The country is our design brief. Mangroves, foothills in the jungle, coastal plains, and urban environments each inform our design approach and material selection, resulting in a project that reflects its own identity.

Our approach is rooted in a deep understanding of your needs, the local context, and the environment. We believe in the power of design to create a sustainable & green built environment in Belize.
Through a combination of experience, technical expertise, and a holistic perspective, we create designs that go beyond aesthetics, focusing on functionality, and the well-being of occupants & nature.
We begin every project with a site assessment and an in-depth conversation. Programme, budget, and brief get sharpened in tandem with the topographic, climatic, and ecological reading of the site.
From schematic design through construction administration, the same team stays with the project. There is no hand-off between a design studio and a technical studio, the professionals who were involved at concept are present on the build.

Alex Mark Vanzie
PRINCIPAL & MANAGING DIRECTOR
Vea | Resources is a principal-led practice. Every project is directed by Alex, B.Arch & M.Sc., with 12+ years of experience in architecture and sustainable development across Belize and the region. He is registered with the Association of Professional Architects of Belize as a corporate member.
Alex leads design, client communication, and building authority approvals directly, including for clients managing their build from abroad. Around that core, Vea collaborates with a vetted team of designers, engineers, and industry professionals matched to each project.
| HOW WE WORK
We’re based in Belmopan and work across all of Belize. We meet where it counts and where it's convenient for you: on your project site, at your location, or remotely from wherever in the world you're planning your build. There's no office to visit. By design. We go to you, and the time and overhead go into the work, not an office or conference room.
